This class will explore the introduction to clay through coil building, slab building, pinch pots, and texture. The goal of this class is to leave with an experience that brings you joy and ultimately a deeper appreciate to the craft. While this is an introduction to clay class, it is open to beginner and advanced makers. This class is taught by owner and local potter, Alec Hoogland.
This is a 6 week course with a 7 week pot luck that will start on Thursday February 6th and go to March 20th. Class time will be 6pm - 9pm. Payment is due in full before the start of class. There are 8 spots available.
The purchase of this class will provide you with one 15lb bag of red stoneware. Tool kits are to be purchased by the student before the start of class (We recommend the Kemper tool kit which can be purchase on Amazon or the local United Arts & Education store). Once your works are made, we will fire them and glaze them before the end of the 6 weeks. Our last class will be a pot luck and we will use the dishes made in class.
Studio can be used outside of class hours during our open hours: Tuesday 11am -6pm, Wednesday and Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday 11am-6pm, and Saturday 11am-4pm.
